Hi! I'm still alive! I remembered that I had one of these. Which is moderately miraculous.

I think, thanks to help from [info]thedreamisreal 's post of Elizabeth Gilbert's talk, I might finally be able to tackle my bad case of writer's block on my project! Which is a relief... But I'm doing this before starting on that.

My latest obsession to annoy everyone else with is webcomics. I've been a fan of xkcd for a while, and recently I've discovered Lackadaisy, Wondermark and Questionable Content, as well as several more...

And [info]sarahtales (Sarah Rees Brennan, whose book The Demon's Lexicon I reviewed in my last post) has put up the second part of her short story, the backstory of one of the novel's characters, here! (The first part is over here) She is an incredibly talented writer, so I devour anything she writes, and this story made me very happy. ^^ Also, she writes the stories only when her US hardcover sales reach a certain amount - so all you people Stateside, buy the book! Do eet! I promise you won't regret it!

Plus I'm getting a graphics tablet sometime next week!

So overall, things are good.

Vlad and Mina are settling into their new home (pot) very well, and are nearly four times the height they were when I first adopted them.

Howdy! The order of the day is a book review. So without further ado: (hey, that rhymes)

Big Swords, Disco Fever, and Other Dark Demonic Delights: The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan )

I think I'll leave it there for now - Vlad and Mina and I are off to go house hunting. (for them, not me, that is.)

... there was the Word. Well, more a sentence, actually. And the Sentence was: Look, I got LiveJournal!

This LJ will be mostly book reviews, entertaining anecdotes, updates on my novel project, and possibly fanfiction.

I'll start with the anecdote thing. Yesterday, I adopted two baby garlic sprouts.

(The tale of the Allium Family) )

And the novel project? I probably shouldn't talk about it... maybe I'll describe it sooner or later. Probably I'll eventually be searching for a critique group. But for now, be satisfied with the following figures: I am on Chapter 1, page 6.
